Braminimise The Bounce

Category: Exercise
Keywords: braminimise, bounce

I am sure that I like the rest of us ladies were totally inspired and in awe of the London Marathon runners last month. The dedication and determination shown by them all was fantastic all deserve much praise and admiration. Watching the marathon on TV started me thinking how important it is that we all do some kind of exercise at least two to three times a week does not have to be anything dangerous or that hard that we think we are dying it could just be a brisk walk or a game of football with the kids.

It is extremely important to wear a good fitting and supportive sports bra whilst exercising. Breasts are made up of breast tissue, tendons and fat and if your breasts are not supported during exercise they will bounce and stretch the tendons, which could cause sagging - this damage is irreversible. Sports bras provide motion control, support, comfort, snug fit during workouts and have been transformed by new fabrics and designs.

Checklist to finding and wearing the correct Sport Bra:-

1. When exercising your breast need to be as close to your rib case as possible to reduce bouncing. Wear a soft cup bra rather than an underwired one, as the underwires can rub, irritate, dig in, cause discomfort and damage breast tissue.

2. More than 70% of women don't know their proper bra size. To ensure you choose the correct size, you should take the time to measure yourself before you buy a sports bra. Use a tape measure. Take a look at fitting guide to help you measure yourself. The best way to test the effectiveness of a sports bra is to look in a mirror and jump up and down

3. Once you have found your size, you then need to determine your level of activity. The higher the level of activity, the higher level of support you'll need. Most sports bra manufacturers indicate the level of activity for which their various sports bras are best suited. Level 1 is low impact such as walking, cycling with level 4 high impact such as running, football.

4. Women who wear a sports bra 3-4 times per week usually need to replace the bra within 6-12 months due to the loss of elasticity in the bra's support materials. Because of the high elasticity content, a sports bra that is hand washed and hung dry will typically last longer than a bra that is machine washed and tumbled dried.

5. Signs that a sports bra should be replaced:
a. A noticeably looser fit
b. Increased breast motion during exercise
c. Fabric pilling.

The most important thing to remember is when you exercise you must be comfortable so you can actually enjoy doing it!! Getting fit, looking good and enjoying yourself gives you a fantastic BUZZ that is electric. So remember BRAMINIMISE THE BOUNCE!!
